Happy 2012! In keeping with the theme, every celebration deserves Dream Day Cakes®, we loved being a part of so many New Year’s celebrations throughout the Gainesville, Florida area. Who knew so many of you had birthdays and planned weddings over the New Year? =) =)

One of our favorite cakes from this weekend was this turquoise silhouette birthday cake.

This silhouette birthday cake created a touch of elegance for the celebration. Complete with edible strands of black pearls, turquoise fondant, an edible 2012, and a lovely silhouette, this cake screamed “eat me!”

For this celebration, cake and color-matching mini-cupcakes helped ring in the New Year (and celebrate this birthday).

This two-tiered birthday cake also needed to bring attention to the New Year. A large, edible 2012 helped accomplish this task.

Beautiful cakes. I wish I were close enough to order some! However, living in Canada kind of makes it hard to get one here. 😉

I don’t know if you answer questions regarding your cakes or not on here, but I thought I’d take a chance. I had seen this picture and can’t figure out how you to the scalloped edge at the top of the cake. I make my own cakes for my children and close family members birthdays and work with fondant all the time for them, but I’ve never seen anything like that when looking for ideas online before. Is it a special crimper I can buy or do you just use the fondant cutter/embosser in a really inventive way?
    Thanks
