Millennium Falcon Grooms Cake

We are honored whenever we’re asked to create wedding cakes. Of course, when we’re asked to also make a great Groom’s cake, then it’s a party. Take for example this recent Millennium Falcon Grooms Cake:

You may remember this cake from our favorite fall wedding cakes of 2012. The bride and groom had an amazing gator themed wedding, at the University of Florida, here in Gainesville.

Along with a gator themed wedding cake, gator cupcakes, and a Gator football game, the wedding also featured a Millennium Falcon cake. You’ve never heard of the Millennium Falcon?

It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. I’ve outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I’m talking about the big Corellian ships now. She’s fast enough for you old man. What’s the cargo? — Han Solo.

Yeni first started with a sculpture (Chocolate Cake…  mmmmm). Here the cake sculpture has received a light coat of buttercream and is getting ready for the final coats.

One the sculpture is “where it needs to be,” Yeni covers the cake in fondant and begins the decorative process.

Groom’s cakes are truly fun cakes. It’s a great way to have the groom’s interests be a part of the wedding and a great reward for the patient groom. =)

We loved creating this Millennium Falcon Groom’s cake for a truly unique Gainesville wedding.
