Slave 1 Cake

For a true Star Wars fan, there’s few better ideas than a Star Wars groom’s cake. Recently, for a lucky groom in Gainesville, Florida, our bakery was honored to create this Slave I Cake.

Much like the one Boba Fett took from Jango (after his death), there were a few modifications. =)

Our normal audience here on the Baker’s Blog may not be familiar with Star Wars history. To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, “Let me explain…. no there’s too much. Let me sum up.”

Jango Fett was an amazing bounty hunter who raised his genetic clone, Boba Fett, as his son. When Jango died, Boba Fett took his starship, Slave I, as his own. Slave I is a heavily modified prototype, well armed starship.

You may remember the Slave I from The Empire Strikes Back as the ship Boba Fett used to transport Han Solo.

One of the modifications we made was the “Just Married” sign… we’re certain Boba Fett would be able to stabilize the ship during flight.

The Slave I has seen a lot of action– and it shows.

We love making creative, custom fondant celebration cakes. This Star Wars themed Groom’s Cake is no exception. After all, if you’re making a groom’s cake for a Boba Fett fan… you must make the Slave I. =)
